Modest lifts are very nice. So are diesels that AREN’T pouring out massive black smoke.

you pay for diesel and with the DPF and EGR delete and a tune you can get over 20mpg

I couldn’t, mainly because I couldn’t stand to be associated with the people who drive lifted diesels around here

Life’s too short to care what other people think of your car.

Lifted like that - 6" lift + 37"s? More 14-16ish at best. I can’t think of anyone that does better than that whether it’s a 7.3, 6.0, 6.4, or a 6.7. Generally 11-12 in town and 14-16 highway.

I prefer these with the body-colored lips. That’s just too much chrome now.

But I agree. I’m a northerner who drives a Miata and some days I’m a little jealous.

Coworker has an ‘02 7.3 Crew 4x4 w/6" lift on 20"s w/37"s and a tune and hasn’t gotten better than 16mpg in the last 200k. And gets 11mpg city. Has told me he went from highway 19-20mpg to 14-16mpg after the lift and tires. Pretty much the same as the other couple 6" lifted PS’s (7.3s, 6.4, & 6.7s) in the office. Of course everybody runs 70mph out here as well, so there is that. But if that’s with a lift/tires I’m impressed.

Not big on lifts, since I would rather have towing capacity.

Or so I’ve done with the Dieselrado.

They are fun in their own unique way.

I always feel so dirty after driving big ass tuned diesels and laughing maniacally at how addictive the torque is...

I’m with you on that one. I like the truck it self but the stigma that comes along with it makes it a total deal breaker.
